Aleksandra Šuklar is a multi-percussionist and marimba artist based in Vienna. She has been described by musical critics as an artist with excellent technique, musicality, temperament, and sensitivity to musical style; skills which contribute to her excellent performance.
She finished her Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees with Prof. Nebojša Jovan Živković at MUK – The Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna in 2016. Simultaneously, she studied at the University of Music and performing Arts Vienna with Prof. Bogdan Bacanu and Prof. Josef Gumpinger.
Aleksandra Šuklar is a prizewinner of numerous national and international competitions across Europe (Slovenia, Austria, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia) and was a laureate of Fidelio Competition in 2014 and 2015. She has also made recordings for the radio stations ORF-Austria, RTV- Slovenia, and HRT- Croatia.
She has performed as a soloist in renowned concert halls: Viennese Musikverein, ORF-Radiokulturhaus Wien, Deutsches Theater Berlin and at festivals such as Rolex Arts Weekend, Wien Modern, Gustav Mahler Musikwochen, NOMUS and Vienna Saxfest among others.
She was a scholarship recipient of the Slovenian Ministry of Culture. In 2016 she received the Start-Scholarship of Austrian Chancellor as one of the most outstanding young artists living in Vienna.
Aleksandra has collaborated with various ensembles and orchestras including the Symphony Orchestra of Vienna State Opera, ORF Radio Symphonieorchester Wien, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra, RTV-Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Kontrapunkte, Zagreb Soloists etc.
She has been touring with “The World of Hans Zimmer” since 2018 as one of the soloists performing in largest arenas of European Capitals.
